Coming in from Atlanta, GA.

Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport is located in Sarasota, Florida and just south of Bradenton, Florida.

Air Force One was at the airport on September 11, 2001. President George W. Bush was at the Emma E. Booker Elementary School in Sarasota when Chief of Staff Andrew Card first informed him of the September 11, 2001 attacks at 9:05 AM. Bush returned to the airport. It taxied at 9:54 AM and lifted off at 9:55 AM flying first to Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana.

  • cool! is that an AirTran 717-200?

  • Not sure.........it's either a Delta or AirTran flight. Sarasota doesn't have too many carriers.

  • @jec8992 I think its a 717. The only other plane it could be is a Delta md-88. But this aircraft is monuvering like a 717.
