  • I didn't mention it before, but you should really upgrade the stock airbox. The factory box is VERY restricted due to the size of the intake opening. Lots of info on options on the Impala SS Forum.

  • Not necessarily. More airflow means that you can burn more fuel, which gives you worse fuel economy (and more HP) when you put your foot down. However, if you reduce backpressure (upgrade exhaust) and improve breathing (upgrade air intake system) AND drive with a light foot, the engine will not have to work as hard to move the SAME amount of air while cruising. That will get you better cruising fuel mileage. But if you burn more fuel to make more HP, you will get reduced fuel economy.

  • more ar flow will also give me better fuel economy right

  • You will need PCM programming for any or all of these: F-body MAF, larger throttle body, any camshaft swap. You will not need a re-program for exhaust work. The 2-1/4" stock pipes are VERY restrictive because the factory pipes are "smashed flat" on the driver's side before the muffler. Go with an aftermarket 2.5" system.

  • I just bought another impala and was thinking on concentrating more on the airflow as my performance upgrade. things like a mass air flow sensor from the camaro z28 thats half inch bigger, bigger throtle body, headers and lt4 hot cam. and i need a suggestion on the exhaust. should i keep the stock 2.25 and just add an x pipe or go 2.50. and would i need to reprogram the computer for any of this

  • perfect ill check it out

  • There are lots of things that you can do - depends what you want to do with the car: drag race, autocross/road race, street machine, or just spice up a daily driver. I suggest you check out the ImpalaSS forum for lots of technical advice. Find it at impalassforum "dot" com

  • man she is a beast im lookingto modify impala what suggestions do u have if i stay with the 350

  • It made 400 HP and 424 ft. lbs. of torque at the rear wheels on a Mustang chassis dyno. If you look at my other videos, you will find a couple of the dyno runs.

  • damn u jye know alot u about how much hp u does she have
