This package takes a look at President Obama's strategy in Afghanistan in the aftermath of US special envoy to the region Richard Holbrooke. US Ambassador to Afghanistan Karl Eikenberry says President has the central role and command of US policies and top statesman like Richard Holbrooke or himself are not indispensable. However Derek Leebaert, the author of "Magic and Mayhem-The Delusions of American Foreign Policy from Korea to Afghanistan" says that US foreign service should hire career diplomats instead of political appointees and should avoid getting deeply involved in Afghanistan. He says that nation building is not an achievable goal and US is trying to do exactly the same in Afghanistan -- building and fixing the Afghani Nation.
