Getting up was a bit of a challange, but what I did was put a box on the ground and then hopped up on the box with my fore arm crutches, had someone hold the segway and got on. The other way I found was to put the segway agains a wall where there was a railing and hop up, it's a bit tricky till you get used to it. The balance was the easiest part! You need to make sure you use one of the older models with a solid T and the steering on the handles. The new ones that the handle moves to steer ...
