@Milfuelle100 Relax, most brits don't have the 'traditional' accent. Loads of regional accents instead
-
I spell colour, favourite, honour, etc, all with a "u" too...because I'm Canada. :p
-
I want to go to England but I'm afraid it will make me immune to the complete hotness of the British accent.
-
When Frasier was mentioning the things that make him "British-friendly" I thought he would have mentioned that he went to Oxford and actually lived in England!
-
@heroxrr "put a little Bobby Darin on the stereo, and then look out, Mackie's back in town!" is a reference to this wonderful Pop Standard song, popularized by Bobby Darin (also the one who popularized "Beyond the Sea') and Frank Sinatra, called "Mack the Knife" and the closing of the song on several parts is something along the lines of Mack coming or being "back in town" !
-
@73BigMC I'm pretty sure it's an intentional running gag
-
In case any viewers have never been to England, let me just assure you that no-one ever talks or acts like anyone in the Fox & Whistle.
Frasier's Achilles Heel is the creators' total inability to find anyone, Jane Leeves and the woman who played Daphne's mother excepted, who sounds even 10% better than Dick van Dyke at an English accent. Surely there must be unemployed Brit actors in LA?
-
@heroxrr It's from the song "Mack the Knife".

Where the heck do the writers conjure up all the stuff about Maris! Always takes me by surprise! And Niles does such an excellent job talking about her eccentricities.

@heroxrr it's from a song called "Mack the Knife"
Around 19.25 Frazier 'I spell color with a 'U".

'Look out, Mackey's back in town!'
I don't even know what that means, but I am using it!
