  • @slkaiser69 I now remember whop Bill hung oput with a lot. It was Don Ellis. I saw them both a lot in Houston, Texas in the 1960's.

  • @NashJM1 Hey, amigo, just thought I'd let you know, that there is a houston,TX that has 62 lanes beat by a wide margin. There is two full houses equally divided between each side of the house. It is about 72 or more if I recall.

  • Sorry about your Yellow Dot, Mine started chipping at the fingers because I would bowl twenty games a day three of four times a week not to mention two scratch bowling leagues. Yeah, I really loved my Black u-Dopt. It also was stolen. Unfortunately, when I bowlee in the PBA, it qualified as to hardness of the cover stock but after the first day, it didn't conform. We waited two hours to see if it would reharden and it didn't. I had to use my /angle and a purpole Rhino the next day.

  • @slkaiser69 Funny you say the C300 U-Dot was your best ball, as I still use mine for strikes. That thing is AMAZING and a BEAST at it's job! I've thrown a Black Angle but I own a Gold Angle, back when AMF really had good things. I also still have my Black, Blue and Blue Pearl Hammer and I had a Yellow Dot until someone stole it this year.

  • @Misstersack I had a Manhattan Rubber and went ape shit with that ball. Averaged about 235 with it at 16 years old. I had a black Beauty, an early hammer and a Columbia yellow dot. The best ball I remember was the Columbia U Dot in 1985. I also had a black Angle which was a little straighter than the U-Dot. But I used them both in the 1985 NW Regional PBA tournament and cashed in the top ten out of 162. Great fun!

  • I used to bowl against Bill in various sweepers in the summer of 1965. I was about sixteen at the time. This was in Houston, TX. He was always with a friend, another pro who I don't remember. I would win usually one of the five or six sweepers each week during the summer. I remember the Calcuttas I would get very expensive to buy but it usually cashed the tourney and the Calcutta. What a gas this was. I bowled a NW REg. PBA in 1985 and out of 162 placed 6th or 7th.

  • @MrFootfree01 Still have my Black Beauty! I loved the Amflite and Gyro balls. Good money makers. Always wanted a Manhattan Rubber ball.

  • they had huge bowling alleys back then...over 62 lanes?!?! we dont even have half of that many lanes at my bowling alley!!

  • @Starcastle2009 Black beatuy and Manhattan Rubber were my favorites along with 3 dot and 5 star

  • i wanna go back in time and bowl with my Ebontie NVD

    just to see there reaction
