  • You have alot of running down the side of the bottle. You should have used the bottom you cut off to pour through. You have a lot of suspect water. Could also add some carbon from campfire ashes. I would use your technique but good info on a start just needs to be dialed in.

  • if i drink that, probably i would have a stomachache

  • HOW WOULD YOU ET HOLES IN THE CAP IF YOUR IN THE WOODS UNLESS YOU CARRY A DRILL WITH YOU!?!?!?!?!

  • not a bad idea, but needs improvements, even just to clean the big nasty out first you could filter it through like a cotton cloth/ Tshirt first, and use bigger bottles like 2liter, set up several of them i'd say at least filter it through 5 different ones so the last filtering is cleanest before boiling, i wouldn't recommend using the same bottle to filter several times on the same cup of water, use a totally separate cup for dipping out of yuck with.

  • love the video, the technique could be improved a little but its a great survival tool and could provide drinkable water after it is boiled! -tuck

  • hey umma...do you need sand I dont have any...

  • on mine when I make one I want to make a cap for the bottom so that say I didnt have a storage container for the water I could store it in there and then when I get a storage container I could let the water out!

  • Man the ceramic micro-filters are getting cheaper all the time. The time and effort put into making a prsonal sand water filter just isnt worth it. LifeStraw, Katadyn, FirstNeed etc. The LifeStraw is only $20 in North America.

  • I live by the Rock River in Rockford, IL and the river is incredibly polluted. They say not to eat the fish, and make sure to wash your hands an hour after touching it. In which I'm guessing is cause of all the chemicals people have thrown in there. Cars have been found in there, my bike, but then again I live in a bad neighborhood. How would I be able to filter the water if it has chemicals in it???

  • This is for removal of debris, dirty water etc. You still have to boil it r-tards...

Try boiling it without doing this and you'll get some nasty cruddy looking water ...Description of video durr
