Dark Skin is BEAUTIFUL!!! Why Buy Fairness Creams?

When I say dark I mean DARK (not just tan). The fairness cream industry could care less about how beautiful you may feel with lighter skin. They're just taking advantage of the age-old colonial standard that favors success, beauty, and superiority with Caucasion features and how this standard has influenced people's judgments about their beauty. That's all. And they're making tons off of this illusion.
Dark/darker skin is not only luscious, beautiful, and fetishized, it is desired even by whiter/lighter skinned people, such as those who tan at the beach all day and risk getting skin cancer just to be darker.
What does it all come down to really? You will get the most satisfying relationship with looking for the inner qualities of people. This video is in no way, shape, or form saying that darker people are better or more beautiful than lighter-skinned people. In essence, I am responding to fairness cream commercials in South Asia (India/Sri Lanka) and just flat out expressing my (and believe me, many others) love for extremely dark skin!!!!

I'm from South Sudan, so my people pretty much have the deepest complexions on earth, and I believe it's one of the loveliest colorings. However not a lot of Sudanese women think that way. They pretty much destroy their beauty and their health using the strongest bleaching creams. It's a totally colonial mindset that we need to repel. I truly commend you on the points you've made.

Edward Bernays, the father of public relations , made a science out of making the American consumer hate something about themselves that one of his promoted products could fix.

We have to break the advertising mind control that makes all of us feel so inadequate.

We are all Stardust. If we just see that in ourselves and in other human beings maybe Madison Avenue wouldn't make billions of dollars off of us chasing an ever changing beauty ideal. 2012 has to be an awaking for the human race.

@TabiBerry1740 i had a friend that was also very dark and was made fun of. but guess what, she was/is beautiful and you probably are too! please don't lighten your skin, it may seem worth it now, but when you are older, stupid people will stop making fun of you and im sure you will be able to see your own beauty one day

I am a Black American and I love my skin color I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world, and and, I am a Guy and I don't know why some other races THINK they we want to take their women when we have gorgeous women of our own. and I am nowhere near racist myself but dude you rock 5/5 thank you BLACK POWER! :P

Honey, you're one step away from being self hating. Dark skin is beautiful, I'm brown but sometimes wish I was darker because it's just hot. People will always make comments about color. I worked with a white female who was very white and they teased her about her pale legs, saying that if her legs were under water, they would look like two florescent lights. It's just teasing. You are beautiful, no matter what they say.

Don't get why some people would want to like lighter, when you got some white people trying to look darker, you get white body builders with like this black tan on. I'm white, although I'm darker than average as my dad is half Indian. I'm kinda the same with you, I think all skin colors are awesome, but I personally find darker skin more attractive, that's just me..mabye it's because I'm a white guy in a white society, I don't know. But no one should feel the need to change anything.

Thanks I really needed to watch this video I hate my skin and don't like getting in the sun because I get darker....I really think what yu had to say was really nice and I'd want to be your best friend if I could.

@TabiBerry1740 you should love yourself for whom you are. I was sometimes picked on by darker skinned women in school who made assumptions about me just because of my skin color. My mom is darker skinned and my father is really light... but thank god we all never thought about skin color growing up in our family. I think it is more of a pressure now cause people always watching tv with light skinned celebrities.
