Download the SONY ERICSSON UPDATE SERVICE
1. turn the phone off for 30 secs
2. REMOVE the battery from the phone
3. HOLD DOWN THE BACK BUTTON
4. CONNECT THE MINI USB TO THE PHONE, STILL HOLDING DOWN THE BACK BUTTON
5. now insert the battery
6. Plug the USB into the computer
5. now INSERT THE BATTERY INTO THE PHONE, STILL HOLDING DOWN THE BACK BUTTON
6. WAIT to be instructed to release the BACK button

@xxXLadyMXxx Try the update once more and if you get the message "your phone is up to date/updated" after update process then it means your phone is one of those that cannot be updated past 1.6. -Josh

How can I know if my phone is one of those that cannot be updated to 1.6? The programm tells me that my phone is up to date but I have 1.6. wtf?

@MrMeLaX That is the way to know. If you are using the latest version of the PC Companion and it gives you the message that your phone is up to date then it means your phone cannot be updated past 1.6 -Josh
