This is my entry for the Summer 09 Firefox challenge to find a better way to use tabs.
http://design-challenge.mozilla.com/summer09/index.html
I feel a browser needs to open full screen by default and tabs need to be image previews and this is what I came up with. The tab wheel allows you to use the mouse wheel to quickly scroll around to the previews on the other side of the screen. A larger wheel would take up less real estate and give you more room, but you get the idea.
When you hover over a preview, any children of that preview will appear on a separate wheel which can be stripped off and put along the bottom.
Right clicking on the previews, highlights them and then a management icon pops out for you to do things like delete, stack, email, print and even split screen the selected preview pages.
I'd be interested in your opinion. Thanks.
The annotations aren't working very well for me....In the last part it says:
If we right click on previews, they're highlighted for managing.
The management console comes out when a preview is highlighted. See in the description what the icons do.
