Viking (BvS10) Amphibious Armoured All-Terrain Vehicle, United Kingdom
Viking (BvS10) is a fully amphibious armoured all-terrain vehicle, which consists of two tracked vehicle units linked by a steering mechanism. The UK Ministry of Defence ordered 108 Vikings from BAE Systems, Land Systems Hagglunds (formerly Alvis Hagglunds), in three variants -- Troop Carrier (TCV), Command Vehicle (CV) and repair Recovery Vehicle (RCV).

The BvS10 vehicle development was based on the operationally proven capability of the Swedish Hagglunds Bv206 and Bv206S vehicles. Over 11,000 vehicles are in service in 40 countries.

  • It's funny how everyone is complaining about it's weak armor. I mean, it's at least more bullet proof then the american Humwee.

  • @SgtDrDeath ....owned by the british...part developed by the royal engeneers.

  • @diramonsky

Yes, the armour is weak in those vehicles.

But you should remember this is a vehicle from the beginning designed as a non armoured vehicle with a better off-road capability than most other off-road vehicles.

If you need more armour you should use an APC or IFV.

  • @SulleM07 If you learned to read it says United Kingdom. Not United States. But yeah we sell weapons to the Americans as well.

  • @SgtDrDeath

    And BAe. From Britain.

  • @onlypeaceindeath

No I don't know but it must have been quite heavy. Probably a heavier vehicle wouldn't have saved him either but still they complaint.

  • @diramonsky Weak against IEDs? What was the IED made of? I have heard that IEDs can be made of unexploded munition like artillery shells. I can't say that I would be surprised about that a BvS10 would be destroyed if it runned into an IED made of 155mm artillery shells. Do you know what the IED was made of?

  • @SulleM07 we are just selling weapons to them and we are only helping people in afganistan

  • why is sweden supporting those american criminals?

  • Dutch army union is complaining that these are too weak against IED's and are requesting Bushmasters. 2 Dutch marines were killed in one of the Vikings yesterday.
