I Live In Detroit - A Thoughts from Places Video

To what does living in a place actually constitute to really Living there? I don't know. I'm trying to figure it out though.

Wounder , should we just drive thrue or should we just explore where we have never been before ? i was told if we go there not to stop talk or leave the car just drive thrue , or when you get back to your car you will be missing your wheels lol is this true ?

@mazdaman1982 Well you can look at it this way. I'm a 22 year old white female who's lived in Detroit for 5 years. I shot all of this alone on my bicycle all over the downtown and surrounding area on multiple afternoons for hours at a time.

There are dangerous parts of Detroit. Detroit is, in terms of city limits, a very large place. That's part of the issue of how it fell into it's run down state. But the Downtown and surrounding areas aren't those areas.

@mazdaman1982 If you want to visit Detroit there's no reason not to. But I would maybe find out what you'd like to see or do first. Google restaurants, the Heidelberg Project, Museums, ect. Detroit has plenty to see and do but it isn't apparent by just driving around.

but all i see on YouTube is Detroit is so bad you can not walk down a street with out geting shot is this true ?, me and my wife are from Winnipeg Manitoba Canada , but for me i Use to live in Toronto Ontario years ago and recently we where planing to drive to T.O and we see it would be faster to drive thrue the U.S.A , now one of the towns we would pass is Detroit , and we thought it would be cool to stop buy and check it out , now watching these videos about how bad Detroit it makes you

I was born and raised in Southwest Detroit. I've taken my forest for granted too.

I think you've hit on an important aspect of the collective Detroit community conscience. Its there and its huge but it won't come find you. You have to seek it out. The rewards redeem the effort.
