  • Hook 'em horns!!!

  • Where did you find this version of "This Then is Texas" it's not from the movie, it is from another source and it's easily one of the best I have heard. Is there anyplace I can get the album you got this from ? thanks for posting, and editing, really captures the spirit of GIANT

  • Rock Hudson's character is not looking out the window at texas in this footage. This is when Bick Benidect was in Washington buying that stupid horse.

  • Excellent presentation, I appreciate your posting and sharing it.

I saw the Movie when it first was released in the mid 1950's and it has been a favorite ever since, I even own the DVD, a gift from one of my children due to them knowing how much I love the Movie, they witnessed me never miss a showing on T.V. in their lives at home before marriage .

A great Movie and timeless in it's presentation of that era and actually a true to life story of a Texan named ''Glen McCarthy'' [Jett Rink]

  • @DeltaFoxtrotWhiskey3 correction, "forever stay with me" is not in the song.

  • The lyrics posted for the first verse are wrong and out of time with the music. The correct order is:

Just like a sleeping giant, sprawling in the sun.

In one great hand the Rio Grande

    In the other Galveston

    Forever stay with me

Where oil wells laugh at angels

    and buzzards wheel above

  • a texan (rock hudson) visits maryland and meets his best girl (liz taylor). . . excellent. my two favorite states!

  • One of Elizabeth Taylor's great movies
