The Rime Of The Ancient Mariner - LEGACY - MOTU 8pre test

MOTU 8 pre quick test. Me and my band played The Rime Of The Ancient Mariner, by Iron Maiden. We set up the MOTU 8 pre in about 10 minutes, quck sound check and started playing. Then I came home and mixed the sources in Cubase.

Sorry for the long black screen. I didn't bother to make a fancy slide show, as I considered that the AUDIO is important, not the VIDEO. :)) Have fun!

Hi!

I used Cubase Sx3 to record and Le4 to mix...

unfortunetly I compressed the mix like heck and it sounds almost distorded. the mics were also placed rapidly and not so correct, there is also lots of leakage between them (all the instruments were in the same room and cranked). it's a good piece of hardware; try to avoid the pads, they provoke hiss (a little).

What software did you use. This video has me excited as I just purchased the MOTU 8pre. Really good sound for first run, and killer song! Thanks for the great post, hopefully I will have some good sounding ones to post in the future rather than my web camn recorded computer mic videos. Peace my musical brothers!!
