My dad and uncles and cousins went to this school. I'm sure I was related to these former slaves because most of the black people in Allen are my relatives. Mr. Anderson was their teacher.

George Anderson taught my three older siblings at Allen High School, and later I had the honor of being in his social studies classes in sixth grade. He wrote "may your reach exceed your grasp" in my yearbook. He was a great teacher and a great man--a positive example for all young people to emulate. May he rest in peace.
