my version -- I Dreamed a Dream

Every year on my birthday, instead of expecting presents from others, I try to make a conscious effort and give something to someone who's inspired me in enormous ways. This year, I decided to let my vocal chords do the trick and belt out this song from the musical Les Miserables, which speaks of much love, loss, and lies of life.

This one I sing in honour of the real 'miserables' out there, who we know have dreamed a dream. And yet we shun our gaze, turn away and pretend that we don't play a role in tearing their hopes apart.

I Dreamed a Dream. Dedicated to the opressed, to the impoverished, to the ones robbed of love. To women and children. To prisoners in their own bodies. To the ones athirst of life. This one's for you.

Your voice is sweet. Maybe it's not too strong, but the tender sound is part of the beauty. Your voice is good in the lower notes too and you hit the keys perfectly in "but the tigers come at night" my favorite part. Your performance got stronger and stronger all the way.
