Diabolo.ca VotW: 27 november 2005, Nick

This week we have 3 tricks by Nick. There's some neat stuff in this one.

Here is Nick's description of the tricks:

"1. Loopicide - The video for this is a bit unclear so I'll try to explain what is happening. It's a left back-wrap to a fake throw, reach inside and grab the string with the right hand. This puts you in a position like a trapeze, but with the loop around your thumb instead of the stick. Next, swing the loop and diabolo around the left stick clockwise, like a yo-yo style suicide and catch the suicide loop around the end of the right stick. This puts you in a trapeze-style hold with a left back-wrap around the axle. To exit, throw the diabolo over the left stick, letting the loop come off the right stick. This leaves ends up in a left back-wrap which is combo-ed into a slack whip trick (left backside to right trapeze, could be an S-Fan exit?)

2. Slack to Eiffel Tower - Another Eiffel Tower, sorry. A different slack trick into this one. It's the same movement as the traditional under-whip, but the whole loop goes around the axle and is then caught around the tip of the stick. (A big "Thank You" to Rezi for teaching this slack at the EJC.) Next, unwrap the left hand stick anticlockwise around the diabolo into an Eiffel Tower. To exit, throw the diabolo into the string coming from the left stick, putting it in a left backside position. This goes into a crossed-arm trapeze, then into a mini-genocide.

3. Laceration Integral(?) Suicide - Another yo-yo inspired trick. The laceration at the start is a bit hard to explain. It's the same as doing a left back-wrap, passing both sticks to the right hand and then under-cutting the diabolo with the left hand from right to left. I pass the sticks to the right hand and then combine the wrap and the under-cut in the same movement. Then point both sticks in towards the diabolo and suicide both sticks around the left hand. Catch the second stick (the one that was originally in the left hand) in your right hand and let the other continue round to the left hand. This leaves you in a backside position, so a mini-genocide out."
