Bureau of Land Management officials brought 80 wild mustangs to Seguin, TX for an auction and adoption event. The animals were saved from starvation in the wild in areas all across the West, and mustang owners say the horses are easy to domesticate and ride.
Actually there were between 20 and 30 million wild horses running around the west in the mid 1800s, so I'm unable to believe that a few thousand mustangs here and there are really stressing their environment. Particularly when they take mustangs off the lands and immediately replace them with cattle...lots more cattle.
Our mustangs are being squeezed out by commercial cattle ranchers in collusion with a corrupt BLM. I suspect payoffs are involved.
