I heard this movie was based on a true story...

I was in an auditorium of about 500 people on a Friday night packed to the hilt when this trailer came on. Once they showed old school Beastmaster everyone went absolutely crazy and cheered with some "Fuck yeah's" being yelled. Once he warps into the city it was the loudest boo's I have ever heard in the history of movie watching and I have probably seen over 1000 films. This movie has one of the largest sequel gaps in terms of good to bad since Caddyshack 1 vs.2.

Yknow the saddest part isnt that someone actually threw out THIS idea for a sequel to The Beastmaster and didnt get fired on the spot. The sad part is that someone threw out that idea and people in that board meeting said "THAT"S JUST GENIUS!!" .....And Beastmaster 2: Through the Portal Of Time was made.
