@Mascherina1964 ". student's parents attack teacher for taking cellpone" I think it's clear where is the problem. If you don't raise your children properly, then no discipline can help
@Mascherina1964 Part of "political correctness" that children have less respect of their elders. Too many cultures will not accept what WAS acceptiple to a learning institution, to the point that being "afraid" of their background makes it unaccepable to voice an opinion. In Europe it is especially ignorant, ie. Santa Claus IS "´St. Nikolas", fron the begining of Dec.!! Strange Race the Humans. Still I cannot advocate any of their plans of survival. Love them as I may. Kindergartner.
The teacher objected to the student returning on the grounds that it would be a signal to the others that if they wanted a three-day holiday, this was what to do.
I don't advocate the strap or caning, but students have to show respect to their elders.
Many people refuse to go into teaching because of these disciplinary problems.
Think! We may be shortchanging our kids because we're afraid of disciplining them!
We've gone from one extreme to another! I don't avocate the above, but what can we do to enforce discipline nowadays?
I ask because in Montréal, there's a story that was on every teacher's lips: a student answered her cell during an exam; the teacher confiscated it; the student demanded it back; teacher said no; student threw a glass of water onto teacher's face; student's parents attack teacher for taking cellpone; student suspended for 3 days and back in teacher's class; teacher resigned.
Put that on MY child and that teacher would be eating her meals via a feeding tube the rest of her fucking life!
NO teacher touches my child.Nuff said
