Ramblin' Man - Bass Line

My version of the bass line of The Allman Brothers Band' hit song "Ramblin' Man", played on my Musicman StingRay 5 Bass guitar over a custom-rendered MIDI backing track.

ABOUT THE SONG
"Ramblin' Man" was written by guitarist Dickey Betts, who also sang the vocal part and played the lead guitar part in the original recording.

The song, produced by The Allman Brothers Band and Johnny Sandlin, was recorded in october, 1972 at the Capricorn Sound Studios, Macon, Georgia and first released as a 7", 45 RPM single. "Ramblin' Man" was the only Allman Brothers Band's top ten song, reaching number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song was included in the album "Brothers and Sisters".

ABOUT THE BASSLINE
"Ramblin' Man" and "Wasted Words" were that last two songs recorded Berry Oakley, original bassist and founding member of the Allman Brothers Band. He died on november 11, 1972, during the recording sessions of "Brothers and Sisters".
