A string quartet from the Macon Symphony Orchestra performed "Georgia on my Mind," made famous by Ray Charles, at four stores in the Tanger Outlets in Locust Grove, GA: Old Navy, Bath and Body Works, Nike, and Kirkland's. Holiday shoppers stopped to stare, pulled out their camera phones, and hummed along as the musicians provided a short reprieve from the holiday stress.

The performance is one of 1,000 Random Acts of Culture taking place nationally over the next three years, funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. Knight Foundation's Random Acts of Culture bring artists out of the performance halls and into the streets and our everyday lives. For more videos and information, visit RandomActsofCulture.org.
