Ginger Rogers in The Jack Benny Program (1957) - excerpt

Excerpt of The Jack Benny Program from 1957. Ginger Rogers is the guest.
Plot: Jack Benny intends to assemble a different show, so he invites Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers for a musical extravaganza. Fred can't show up due to weather problems. Jack isnt able to inform Ginger so, once she is on the stage, he takes Fred's part and dances with her. She acts surprised but follows him along the steps - the most intricate ones are played by stunts (that is why we hear so many laughs). At the end, Jack invites his stunt to join him on the stage (he also plays the part of the stunt) and asks Ginger to have dinner with him. She says she was already asked by the stunt.

From what I gather about Jack is that since he was always so appreciative of everything wonderful that he probably regarded this as one of his greatest moments. And who wouldn't? Dancing and clownin with Ginger, just imagine!
