the hebrew meaning of knew is to consider so cain considered his sister to be his wife he obviously was the third child so he was older than his wife there may have been many years befor he met her after God sent him to Nod

it just states that the days of adam after he had seth were 800, that's how they trace genealogy in the bible if you look at the genealogies. for adam it is traced through seth, and they give the ages so you can add it up i suppose. sometimes a genealogy will mention other children, even daughters. in this verse it just mentions that he also had other children besides seth, because if you remember abel is dead and cain is booted. i was taught he took his sister as wife, don't know verse tho.

first of all, the story that we all know, of creation and everything that followed, is from a Hebrew viewpoint.................OK..­............has that sunk in yet? Now as far as i can trace back, i'm not Hebrew. My roots go back to Africa. In Africa there is a story of how life got here too. Basically the bible is an exaggerated book of myths and legends.

think critically about it, do research, it does touch on fact but then so does Robin Hood, doesn't make it true though.

Why not talk about any other translation of the Bible. You have The New International version using "lay", New American Standard uses "had relations", The Message uses "slept". You could have saved a lot of time by using one of those translations. But regardless, the note that KingHeathen mentions, that it all started again with Noah is correct (according to the Bible.) I will not hide the fact that I don't believe the Bible is correct in terms of how life began and evolved.

After Cain killed his brother there were supposedly only three people left - Adam, Eve, and Cain. Then Genesis 4:17 says Cain knew his wife, the mystery woman he must have met in the land of Nod. Now later in Genesis 4:25 it says Adam had sex with Eve again and gave birth to Seth, who Eve herself even says replaced the son she lost (Able). This means that Seth was her THIRD child. Cain had his wife BEFORE Seth was born, thus Cain could not have married his sister because he didn't have any yet.

and also, adam supposedly lived 930+ years, which would be approximately 1/6th the lifespan of the earth itself according to creationism. Everyone knows that nobody can live that long. I know the argument that you will present in rebuttal though...."time was not kept the same" and "a year now is not the same length of time as a year then"

doesnt claiming that adam and eve were not the first people on pretty much disprove creationism. In Genesis, during the creation of the heavens and earth (and I assume hell too), god made man in his on image...which was ADAM..then made woman. But...now you are saying that there were actually people on earth already before adam and eve? If so, then how long? I find it difficult to believe that the worlds population has grown to its size from a few people in only 6000 years.
