Consumer Watchdog's Judy Dugan on the ED Show, discussing how United Health Group is Pressuring Employees To Campaign Against Health Care Reform. (This version has audio)
To the person who thinks people who work at UHG have cushy jobs. We don't. I work to try and help people be healthier. With the amount of fast food and lack of exercise in the country, this is not an easy job. I drive an old crappy car and live in a small house. I don't make a ton of money but I work hard and love what I do.
Ha! I've worked for UHG for five years. This news report is a lie. I remember all of these emails and other parts of this campaign. It was just information. People were wondering what the company was doing/thinking about health care reform. I didn't do anything with the info and I am still employed there and got an "exceeds expectations" on every annual review I've ever had. They were NOT monitoring who did anything with regard to health care reform. No sense of pressure!
The insurance industry should have their exemptions from the Anti-Trust laws repealed, and all the markets should be opened up for competition!
Then the 100,000 or so employees with big cushy jobs would stop spouting their fake "conservatism" to justify their cushy lifestyles at the expense of our nation's health and competitiveness.
Hot money insurance companies use to pump and dump securities will not end; they will just have to work harder and deliver MORE VALUE for the windfall profits.
I actually WORK for the company and my take on this is not purely speculation like these two liberal loons. I love how they take their speculation and say it is fact, this is journalism at its worst, probably the reason why Ed has so few regular viewers.

I work for UHG also, and I can honestly say there was no presure at all from my perspective.
I am glad that I see this story and am also an employee. I directly see how this news story lies. (It is an intentional deception.)
Employers were encouraged to participate in the public debate but NO advice on what to say!.
I work for the Ingenix part of UHG.
Any other employees please comment if youv'e been pressured.
