2003 Mustang GT engine tick

Engine tick is resonating out the bottom of the engine. Does not get worse with higher RPMS. Best description is a "diesel tic."

no cel would not come on, also if the exhuast manifold gasket is leaking it will tick. also when was the last time you changed you oil?

I have had the car for 1 month now, I have not changed the oil since I got it. I did throw a quart of 5w-20 Castrol GTX synthetic in it this week just to see what it would do, no change. How do I go about checking my exhaust manifold?

check your exhuast manifolds for cracks, cause they cause ticking also

My CEL is not on, wouldnt it come on if the exhaust manifold was cracked?

Timing tensioner going out, best get it looked at fast, mine has gotten worse in the past 6 months and now have metal shavings in my oil.

look to see if there are any cracks and check the tightness of the manifold bolts.if there is a leak you will see blackish sut around the area.also on the passenger side there is a gasket in between the manifold and the h-pipe, check for leakage there.
