Whenever the car is idling it will give off this weird resonance sound, not sure wtf it is. When you give it a little gas it goes away, then returns again as you can see in the video. WTF can it be?
mine does the EXACT same noise and when i rev, it goes away and comes back, just like your's does. I'm going to change my oil today/tomorrow and while I'm under, try to tighten my belts... did you ever figure out why it was making that noise?
I have a 1997 Maxima GXE with the exact sound.....the problem/sound goes away when the engine reaches operating temperature and the outside temp is above 60 degrees....Check your fuel filter (located on the firewall on the driver's side......the sound is caused by your fuel pressure regulator or you need to install a cushioning shim between the fuel filter and the firewall.......fixed mine !
i dont know too much about the '97's but check the exhaust, specifically the cat and flex pipe. i was under my 2000 on a lift yesterday, my flexpipe is rusting off and starting to go through the pipe underneath, yet the rest of the exhaust system is all good. and my friends 2000's cat rusted through completely and made a similar noise. i dont think its a serpentine belt at all, mine was completely fucked when i changed it the other day, didnt make much noise though before
For all you dipshit honda drivers, the MIL(malfunction indicator light) is on the far right. That is a seatbelt light. The one in the far left is door ajar light. I would suggest you take your maxima to an exaust shop and have a new resonator slapped on and have them check for leaks too. Think about it, if it happenes throughout the driving range, maybe serp. belts. Otherwise I say it in the exaust.
Mine has the same, and so does my brothers. both are 97 maxima se, one auto, one manual so im assuming its in all maximas probbably or atleast alot. It does nothing since we have been driving with it for a long time so dnot worry. yeah my bro and i love ethe 97-99 maxima.
ya man you have an exhaust leak somewhere or i have hear something similar but it was a really weird deal on a another car check your pulley system and see if there's an issue. oh and did you notice the check engine light is on?
