It's good that they're not specific about the meanings of their songs. Everyone questions a higher power, politics, and the rules of society. So the fact that they aren't specific allows the lyrics to cater to everyone. It's so annoying how everyone tries to put a label on them. They're an amazing band. Leave it at that.

@allandabid when he plays this song live, he explains that he "writes songs about things he doesn't understand, like God, girls, and politics". then he goes on to say "this is a song about grace". To me that sounds like he's writing it from a religious standpoint

Ive heard in interviews that they write songs about hope. God is hope for us. Jon Forman also came out with a solo worship album too

The song typically talks about God, which is good. But they don't mention their actual meanings for some reason. Other than that, they're inspirational. Just not sure if it's in a good way.
