This is a brief picture of how to take apart the "Motor Mount" of a 2004 Ford Focus. We get into more detail, breaking it down to a normal level , from what the "Dealer Mechanic" will tell you!!!. My friend Hector is the mechanic for this video.

- In all it took about 45mins total, and is on a "Easy/Medium" work skill level.
- In order to do this Job , make sure you have the proper tools , and jacks for this procedure.

  • Thanks Everyone for your feedback / comments..., to answer some of the questions, here goes...,

< floridaboys13 .. There is only one Motor Mount for my car, once i replaced it i didnt hear any more vibrating sounds.. the old one had a crack in it.

<Roninhdz .... Bro this thing was virbrating all the time , soon as i cranked the engine, and i heard it inside.. so i knew something was wrong.

Thanks everyone for your comments, keep it coming!!

  • Hey, "galileofig" the way that i found out that it was bad, was at first it was making a noise inside ,when i was driving. then i looked and seen that it had a small hole on it.. so i replaced it..

  • Thanks for the post! I've done this three times now, my advice to all: go with the ford mount, the aftermarket ones keep popping the rubber bladder and leaking.

  • Ohh wow.., i didnt even know it had done that for you. I put in the aftermarket type and it seems to be doing fine.. how long ago did you place yours in?? and when and how do you change the timing belt if you know??

    Thanks

  • I don't think it will go through but the answer is best found on e how website.

  • Alright , Alright cool!!! i will keep you posted with updates that i might do later !!!...

  • And the dealer wants to charge me $500 dollars to replace my engine monts in my 2006 focus. Crazzzzy

  • Excellent catch on the rubber underneath with an air pocket. The outside part of the mount on mine looked, good, no cracks or anything, that inner part that contains the fluid was collapsed. I even had a repair shop inspect and miss that, they changed the lower bottom mount and it didn't fix the problem. Now my only concern is I bought a cheap aftermarket mount..........wonder how long it will last!

  • He got the wrong one lol

  • Good vid. man

  • 2.0L SPI is actually not a bad motor if you actually take good care of it. Mine has 165k miles and runs great

  • Mine just went bad. The car engine would vibrate like it was gonna stall. I first thought it needed a tune-up. I went to the dealer to have it checked and good thing I did because it was a bad motor mount which was still under ford warranty on my 2009 ford focus. the car runs great now. No vibrations.

  • Thanks. That was informative. I gotta learn to do that shit. It costs a small fortune to have Ford dealers do it themselves.

  • thank goodness, a video that has lighting & a mic so you can understand...GOOD JOB!

  • Thank you for this video. Mine just broke, now I know what to do this weekend!

  • gotta be a strong man...like me! hahahah
