  • I think that'll do a decent job of watering my lawn.

  • The only thing running out faster than this water is congressional support for NASA! But hey, giving money to the Soviet--err I mean our "friends" the Russians is all part of Obama's stimulus program. Sad, sad, sad. A hand salute to the 30th anniversary of the STS program.

  • What if that's salt water? Do you still think we should bottle it up and send it overseas? And how much would that cost? And what happens to that water, is it nuked or something so it ceases to exist? Or does it go back out to sea or evaporate and then goes out to sea anyways. Don't post morons.

  • Good lord, that's a lot of water!

  • @joodmcg You must be joking.

  • It's in the title.

    SOUND SUPPRESSION <---

  • Protects the spacecraft, payload, and (when on board) astronauts from acoustical energy from the rocket blast.

  • what is the role of this system?

  • what is the sound suppression test is about? All i see is water flowing out

  • Look at the big picture. If it wasn't for the Sound Suppression System being activated we'd most likely lose 7 astronauts and another Orbiter, not counting the millions of dollars.
