I redid this song (badly) just to show the difference in sound with the TD-6 (haven't gone through all the voices yet so I'll probably change them later)

I got the parts I screwed up in the last one right but completely messed up different spots. I should stop trying to record at the end of a long day.

Oh well hope you enjoy.

  • Ok I have a question! Do the DM5 Pro kit drum pads work fine with the Roland sound module? Im looking to upgrade from my dm5 sound module to the TD 4. I figure you would know.

  • Ya they work quite well with the TD-6. I see no reason they wouldn't work with the TD-4. I have noticed that because of the roland cone trigger that the Alesis pad get almost no centre hot spot like the roland pads do.

  • Does it sound way better through that than the DM5 module?

  • The DM5 has some good sounds but the TD-6 sounds are similar.

  • Like I meant the quality, say which sounds more realistic between the two? Im looking for the most realistic acoustic sounding between them.

  • Roland

  • Ok, thanks for the help and ha sorry if I annoyed you.

  • Cool dude :) I use a TD3-kv and the TD6 sounds so much better.... maybe time for a module upgrade i think :D

  • I love the roland. Just picked up a Hart Dynamics crash. Sure is nice to have a choke now.

  • I have a TD-12. Awesome drum module.

I'm using a CY-5 for hi-hat cymbals, two CY-8 for crashes, a CY-15R (3-way pad) for my ride, a PDX-8 for percussion stuff (sometimes woodblocks, sometimes cowbells, agogos, timbales, or even as a china cymbal ou splash). A PD-85 for my snare, 3 PD-8s for my toms, and a KD-8 for my bass.

If I had a TD-6, nstead of getting new pads for the drumset, I'd surely first change to a TD-12 or TD-20.
