Patti Lupone from the original London cast of Les Miserable sings my favorite version of " I Dreamed A Dream". :) Sure, Susan Boyle sings great too, but Patti Lupone is WOAH :)

  • @calvintoronto stop shouting

  • Let's be real, Lea Salonga did the BEST interpretation of "I Dreamed a Dream" EVER!!!

  • Well..proof is in the pudding. Patti Lupone has totally blown out her voice; Lea Salonga continues to kick ass on Broadway, having played both Eponine and Fontine. And now she's starring in the movie. Patti Lupone has a great voice. But Lea Salonga has a greater one.

  • lea salonga did a good interpretation of this song aswell

  • Bleah..... What's the hype? Listen to her at 3:30 , when she sings "And there are storms we cannot weather." Everything is so dramatically FORCED. "weather" is "WEAH - THUH." Sure, it's theatre, but really. And then at 3:50 "So different now...." She simply runs through it all, in search of IN-FLEC-TION". It's really tiresome how she tries to convey emotion through laboured E-NUN-CI-A-TION.

  • @bohallor Amen!

  • @bohallor I'm not sure where I found it, but I tripped over a video of Dame Shirley Bassey singing this.

    At FULL Bassey power!!!

That woman knows how to project emotion.

    She had me in tears.

Susan sings it technically well. I simply don't hear an ounce of emotion or actual understanding of what the words are saying. To me, this song is as much about the soul as it is the technical proficiency.

  • @bohallor short drop to susan boyle followed by the Mt Everest of drop offs

  • By far the best version
