Have you ever ran across or heard of anyone who was a Geocache Raider or GeoPirate. I have heard of these and was told that they are people who just go out and loot the entire cache? Maybe you can do a Geosnippets piece on this subject.

@mythic89 There are a few over the past years that I have heard of. Usually a fleeting few that for one or two I know the police have actually caught.. Shame that they do such things..

Most of the cops in my town know what me and my family are up to now that they have all questioned us lol

@wersaswer There are many times when I am at a geocaching event, I will notify the local police so they know that geocachers will be looking around that day. They usually really appreciate the heads up...

@wersaswer I've been lucky enough to only have two semi-encounters with the police. The first was after we had already found the geocache, walked back up the road to the car and when we drove past where it was there was a cop car sitting there. The second we were at a park in the edge of the woods and a cop was out patroling. He didn't stop so he probably already had questioned someone before. So far I have been a little nervous to geocache in a foreign country but hope to give it a try soon.
