I know nothing about Hapkido. I watch the videos, b/c a guy who knew it saved my life.
A mugger held me up for my purse and after I gave it to him, he decided he wanted to cut my throat anyway.
Before he could complete his move another guy, who seemed to appear out of nowhere, prevented the mugger from stabbing me.
It didn't even take long either, like less than 3 moves and the mugger was under this guy's control.

@nrgpitt1 The Ki grip is only one component of the many broader techniques. One needs to follow up the grip with other movements such as further manipulating the opponent’s wrist to cause pain or pin them to the ground. The point of the ki grip is to be able to better control the opponent in order to perform follow up techniques. Hope that makes sense.
