Across M and S 50 and 52's, and even S54's, the oil pump nuts have had a history of falling off, causing sudden oil pressure loss without warning, caused by being slightly under torqued out of the factory. Oil pump nut failures are most common on the S motors in the M3's. However M50 and 52's have also had a small history of oil pump nut failures.

Our fix, tack weld it! And that thing ain't coming off, take that as good or bad. My oil pump never failed, however I wanted this done for the sense of security, plus it was a good time to also do front sub frame reinforcements as well.
