This is my favorite, too. I bought their Reach the Beach CD(the remastered version) from Tower Records a few years back. They do not deserve to be called new-wave. They were classic '80s rock along with U2, INXS, The Police, and R.E.M.

Man I wish I could see these guys live somewhere in the Midwest...thanks to Pandora playing their deeper tracks, The Fixx has fast become one of my favorite bands ever!

This song and Big Country's "We're Not In Kansas" are two of the best post-70's protest songs I've heard. The Fixx have always been most able to call the spade a spade. Their songs Stand Or Fall, One Thing Leads To Another and Red Skies also allude to our own demise.
Rock on, Cy Curnin and company.

"Driven out by thieves, I watch them pillage the planet..."
"...food that's not seen the soil..."

I saw The Fixx a couple of years ago at the Oregon State fair and when they played this tune it was absolutely haunting - almost as though I was hearing it for the first time because the band gave it all they had. An amazing song from a great band that is STILL fun to see live.
