HAHA, Leonard fought Terry at 154. 154 is NOT way above welter but rather just above it!

and besides, Ray had fought at that same weight in '79 just before winning his welterweight title. The jokes on YOU! LOL LOL LOL LOL!!!

if u want to talk about a fighter way above his natural fighting weight, the man you REALLY want is Roberto Duran, a lightweight who skipped two divisions and beat SRL. Terry was just above Leonard's weight but weight wasnt Ray's problem, Terry's SPEED was

  • @Piglatinsuperstar Yeah dude you're a fool. Leonard Prime was at welterweight between 1979 - 1982. Anything after that, at much higher weights than his natural best weight, was Leonard past his prime. And when he fought Norris he was way over the hill, fighting in a weight class way above his natural best weight. Norris was a very good fighter but not an all time great.

  • @assfacedfucker

there's only one way to look at this mismatch and that is, Terry beat the man that everyone else couldnt. That's why Terry is in the hall of fame. Fact is, Ray had gone 11 straight years without a loss and picked up 5 championships. How does that make him past his prime? It is said that if a man is winning, he is on top of his game. Ray had just never faced anyone with Terry's amazing blazing handspeed. He was gifted and Ray never seen it before & couldnt cope

  • @Piglatinsuperstar He was way past his prime when he fought Terry Norris

  • @justinjamesful

his angles didnt mean squat against the faster men. People like Terry Norris who tore him to shreds and ended his 11 year win streak. Give Sugar a little bit of speed and watch him crumble like a cheap deck of cards

  • Thanks for posting this in HQ. Awesome win for Ray, one of his best.

  • When you catch Leonard, you better get the hell out of Dodge.

  • Sugar Ray Leonard is the Muhammad Ali of my time.

  • Leonard's footwork and angles were top notch. Add that big heart of a Champion and will to win put him on the top of the 80's. Great, great fighter.

  • Leonard, Hearns, Duran or Hagler would own Jones, Mayweather or Paquiao.
