The scripted battle can be won using normal methods, but it is extremely hard to do ("almost" impossible). Like one of the Star Trek games, the one with Jean-Luc Piccard, there is one battle that is for you scripted to fail and you MUST run, while a colony gets destroyed by unknown vessels, but it is possible to destroy them using a glitch, and the command says only Good work

Also, the...enemy...(trying not to spoil people who didn't yet watched the video) is different for each character class.
