From time to time, it's good to hear from a mother wiser than myself - my mom!
My mom, Morency, not only raised three girls but has run her own small private school for close to 30 years. She deals with kids who would otherwise fall through the cracks, so I think she has a lot of insight. nbsp;Since I am a step mom, I wanted to ask her about the step parents she has known through the years.
Anyone who has had that job knows it can be a little dicey to navigate. And I am lucky. I never had the ABC Afterschool Special moment I thought I would have, a step child running down the hall, screaming, "Leave me alone, you aren't my mother!" as they slam the door to their room.Share
Well it took me 5 years to re teach these poor kids.....Then there father whom never lifted a finger to help me...walked out on me and left me with his kids.He gives me money to raise them and asked me to please finish raising his kids....so yes I am there mom....they call me that now but what is sad...is they hate there parents...they dont want to talk to them anymore or have nothing to do w either of them...I get the blame and all I did was love these kids,,,,

So I took them in my loving arms. Well at first omg it became so hard. I am NOT going to compare children with stray dogs here but you know when a stray dog comes to your home and you take them in and feed them...well you cant teach them new behavior persay...like if they were never house broken or noone taught them to stay off the furniture...lol well these kids took the charactoristic of there mom, She never taught them morals and manners....The came into my home thinking they can do it all..

What if the father or mother isnt around?....I been raising my step kids for 8 years...2 boys, a girl, plus my two boys wich I sadly lost a son this year...Well my step kids bio mom lost her parental rights thru the child protection services. My husband at the time was driving a truck, never home. They asked me if I would like for the children to be placed in my home. I hesitated at first of course but then thought those are my hubbys kids!! I have to help!Plus I liked the kids..to be continued
