Rattlesnake roundups in Oklahoma are attended by thousands of people each year. At some of these events, rattlesnakes have their mouths sewn shut for photos with the attendees. Bruha compares this to a haunting and graphic photo of a puppy with its mouth sewn shut. In the "pit of death", the snakes are deprived of food, water & shelter. Ned Bruha, The Skunk Whisperer takes a stand with undercover video & quotes the laws on the books, insisting that Oklahoma authorities use the video evidence to make over 2 dozen felony animal cruelty convictions - from a simple YouTube video upload. The dry, simple 8 minute video encourages any Average Joe to stand up & make a change. The rattlesnake roundups can and will be educational, family events without animal cruelty. PLEASE SHARE far and wide.

When we launched this video, we sent the DA's, Dept of Ag, ODWC and Governor Fallin different letters asking for different things. Those to the Dept of AG, ODWC and the DA's included face photos of the people who are in the act of a felony on film. The letters are too long to post on Youtube. I did Call Gov. Fallins office & I was told after I had been hung up on,& I called back "THEY CANNOT CONTROL WHAT EVERY IDIOT IN THIER STATE DOES TO ANIMALS" My response was "But this is a very popular festival of sorts & these abused animals are being displayed...Why is NO ONE being charged with animal cruelty?" Then she hung up.

Thanks for sharing this! Here in Florida we do have a rattle snake round up but it has been changed into a big fun educational event where no animals are harmed! I would love to see that happen everywhere! I may be in Florida but I am emailing these folks right now!!!!!!

THANK YOU!! Thank you for putting the time and thought into this video that clearly puts in perspective the horrible cruelty that goes on at round ups! No one can deny that fact after watching this. I dont see how it can do anything short of bringing direct legal action against these individuals!!

@Sophies09Mommy I did when I was younger and stupider. I emailed them and they sent me a wall of text that basically said because HSUS has a page protesting roundups they aren't going to do shit (worded more gracefully, of course). PETA are a bunch of hypocritical clowns and the last thing we need fighting this fight.

@jamiedorton1973 It's great you made that call. Next time anyone gets the same answer just ask back: 'Who is in charge then? You should resign at once if you cannot press charges against people who commit animal cruelty on public display.' It's a monstrous act of negligence on the part of an elected state official's office.

@awana45 That is exactly why we wanted to do it ourselves - plus, it is obviously a home made simple video - we wanted to show folks that anybody with a camera can do this. It is done now, but it will do no good at all unless folks call, write and call again. If they sound like animal rights activists or are not civil, it will not help matters at all.

@PurpleViper3 EXACTLY ...i posted about this to people i know and told them, its not JUST "a snake" it is a LIVING , BREATHING , FEELING being...and to imagine if this was *yourself* having this done to..and being held by humans, cant defend yourself, scared to death and cant get away, its mindboggling the feelings those poor snakes must be enduring, its a wonder they dont literally die from fear :( and i am scared to death of snakes but i love animals period
