A selection of scenes from the protests against the destruction of teachers pensions; done on a cheap handheld camera so the stirring performance of We Shall Overcome didn't quite come out alas.

The particularly charismatic elderly gentleman, he's a client of a daycare centre I volunteer at, who we know as "Little Ron", and I ran into him as we marched opposite castle park, giving people the thumbs up. I asked if he'd like to join in, and he came along... Observe as he tries to encourage bored teenagers to take part along the route! Later on he'd try and talk people out of their cars too, he he.

I didn't record all of the speakers, but I did take a considerable number of pictures along the march, which can be seen hosted on my facebook page here;

  • Nice video. Great work from the trade unions who went on strike - shame the bosses of Unison and other unions like them could not be arsed to call industrial action as well.
