@chaser22081 This is an original movie clip, I had nothing to do with the filming or recording of anything. The film is posted in its exact original format. I am curious as I don't see any of this seriously out of sync. When he makes the two drum strikes at 0.19 the sound is exactly in sync with the picture. What do you see and hear at 019? When he makes the two strikes on the drum is the sound way behind the picture or before. It's right on target on my end,.

@chaser22081 Type in big sid catlett and watch more of the movie clip with them talking, especially at the end. The film appears to be out of sync, but not much. When they talk at the end it is a little out of sync to me. Possibly whoever ran the film through the projector had too much or too little film in the film gate. It has to be just so, or this happens.

Hey, thanks for your response and for being so cool about this. I realize only today that you could have thought I was talking about you....which I wasn't. I've seen the clip a few times and could never understand why things were so out of synch. Do I understand you correctly that the original video was out of synch, so there's nothing that can be done about it now?

@Scrayfish0 If the video is severely out of sync when you watch it, it might be out of sync on your end, and something I can't see on my end. It is pretty much in sync when I watch it . I kept watching it over & over a few times trying to find something really out of sync, but when he hits the drum with the drum stick the sound matches. Some uploaders have complained about their videos out of sync after uploading, but I haven't had that problem so far, and I can't see it in this one.

i do like his music, my friend is now 99 and her dotter is 65 and she told me to put every thing in the trash but i did not do that i got me some marlon brando and gene Krupa

@Scrayfish0 this is great stuff Mr. Gillis, great stuff. Say, realize this is an old conversation, but if I may interject, could it be possible that Mr. Krupa is drumming faster than the frame rate? So you'd here the sound of the multipule drub hits but not actually see them, hence, it gives the illusion that it's out of synch when it isn't? I mean drum sticks bounce pretty fast when you do it propper, you hear em, but does the camera pick em up?

@chaser22081 from the 20's-early 60's a lot of drummers played to pre-recorded tracks. tracks they themselves recorded...in a studio. the microphones using for filming movies and TV shows weren't able to handle the recording of drums very well.
