I lived this song in real life. Except it was college, and instead of becoming a drunk I became a banker. Last I heard she got fat and was working as a waitress at Marie Callenders back home. HA HA!

I'm a southern-born American...that means I've no idea WHAT the hell my lineage is, except that Native American is in the mix, my great-grandmother on my maternal side looks 100% , great-grandfather (her husband) looks like EVIL Mark Twain! lol NOBODY smiled for "photo-portraits" in those days. Best guess would be Cherokee, who ruled here before "Trail of Tears."

I found a different version of this record in the trash on the street in NYC in the '70s. I became a punk/New Wave influence and dang if someone didn't steal this record from me! Thank you so much for posting, I kind of thought I was imagining all this and people have ridiculed me. I left the USA to give it back to the First People. I am now in Europe. Uprated.
