I can't understand why this was so popular. How did they guess he was behind the window, as well screened as he was? Other than that, it was straightforward, plodding detective work, leading up to a predictable ending, and a lame "twist" epilogue. I even guessed he would get one shot and miss, they made that obvious in the ordering-the-gun scene.
The Devil's Alternative is a much better spy and suspense story, for some reason it was never famous, people like crap better.
I've seen this movie so many times. I love this movie. I can't stop watching it. I could watch it over and over. The Day of the Jackal (1973).

Finally a full, uncensored version. I only knew the 95 minutes TV version. Thank you so much!

The french were like ladies. They surrendered Paris without a shot.

Still one of the best films of all time. Edward Fox should have received an Oscar.
