@bondservant4jc, I am argumentative, but that's not necessarily bad if it's for the Truth, especially the gospel. That's why there is apologetics teaching. :P

@simplydannygirl, you speak very fast and your accent is extremely difficult to understand.

@BeholdTheSonofGod It's the same concept as a dead man not being able to make himself alive. So God get's the glory.

@Philos2006 non-sequitur. There is no text or constitution that hasn't been fought over.
It doesn't follow that written texts of every kind have nothing godly about them. You're not thinking if you conclude that a religion is godly ONLY on the supposition that its text can not be argued over.
Rather, there is a devil who seeks to keep men blind to truth, and people are selfish thus they WILL pervert the truth. Its the clear parts of the Bible that DISTURB the EVIL heart most.

@simplydannygirl many people come to Christ by reading Bible teaching found in books. Forgive me, but what's the difference between hearing a preacher in an 'old fashioned tent' or if his sermon was written in a book? Tent meetings have only been around since 1800s. People used to claim that tent meetings are not scriptural.

@Studier101 Lane misrepresented Finney. I just posted part one of Charles Finney vs. Lane (updated) part 1. Kielar stated that Finney said "Salvation is the work of man". This is a lie. If Kielar teaches FALSE things, then how do you claim Keilar is a good teacher?
Also, Finney did not teach sinless perfection. There is a difference between saying it is IMPOSSIBLE to sin, and that it is possible NOT to sin. Do you not know that? Moral ability is God's grace to all men because He's GOOD.

@bondservant4jesus your post is trying to get a formula like 'decisions' AGAINST Christ.
Otherwise why post unless you want to influence people to your doctrine?
IOW, Paul said 'God COMMANDS all men everywhere to repent' but you insist that we are unable to do so unless God elects us, and if we are elect, it is not actually US who does the repenting, but God MAKING us repent like a puppeteer. No doubt you will now cry 'straw man argument straw man'
Should we WAIT till God makes us repent?
-
@candiceevans1 the errors are GLARING. The Calvinist god gives laws we cannot keep and threatens the non-elect with eternal torment if these laws are not kept. But they will go to hell anyway because God decreed before they were born that they would go to hell. If salvation was not their predestined fate then they were born unlucky.
It teaches God only loves the elect and that Jesus died only for those who were lucky enough to be predestined. (Calvinists call that 'grace'. )

@Mathetes76 Lecture LVI Systematic theology 1851 edition, JUSTIFICATION
"There are, however, valid grounds and valid conditions of justification. 1. The vicarious sufferings or atonement of Christ is a condition of justification, or of the pardon and acceptance of penitent sinners...(cites 24 verses) 2. Repentance is also a condition of our justification... 3. Faith in Christ is, in the same sense, another condition of justification." Finney ONLY lists 3 conditions. You shoot a straw man.

I really don't understand evangelicism to begin with. Live and let live. Please don't impose your beliefs on me or anyone else.

After watching this video I cannot accept your arguments because you've not conveyed any sense of credibility. You havent made a case against the people you are accusing at all - only logical fallacies and a failure to provide citations for most, if not all, of your claims. If you make such a multitude of claims you must back them up, or at least some of them, otherwise you have no credibility. Bible references don't prove your case either since you provide no substantial exposition.
With all due respect and seeking to speak the truth in love, it seems ironic that you would criticise Reformed Theology for denying assurance of salvation (which it does not; at least for my own part I can say that I hold the doctrines of Grace and I have that blessed assurance, praise God!) while at the same time defending Charles Finney, who in his 'Systematic Theology', clearly & repeatedly taught that works are a condition for salvation & even explicitly stated that his was "another gospel".

True only God knows the heart. But there can be many just move by emotions, nice music, such as in alter calls. If he preached the gospel and telling people to repent and turn to God and trust in Jesus alone for salvation. Then that's fine. But you can't just tell some one repeat a prayer and then they are saved. It's through faith and repentance. I don't really know all too much if he did that. I will leave that up to you all to research that for yourselves.
