Started with a 350m warm-up, then a 2000m race, followed by a 100m warm-down. I registered 3 pace boats that I manually configured @ 2:50, 2:40, and 2:30 (all are times in MIN:SEC per 500m) at various stroke rates from 60 - 68 spm. My technique really started to get ugly towards the last 1/3 of the race when that pace boat was catching up to me. During that last 1/3, I had to drop the beat and add more power; too bad it turned out to be more bodyweight than anything, as evidenced from my forward-down motion. That would kill the rhythm of the boat if I was on the water.
At around the 07:00 mark in the video, if you watch my laptop screen (kind of faint) you can see that quick pace boat catching up to me. That sucka was just HANGIN' around me until the end of the race. Suckin' camera cut me off at just under 12 minutes, so you don't get to see my (ugly) finish, but I beat that pesky pace boat!! According to my *ahem* age-based default, 184 is my max HR, so if you look at the next video of my chart output, from Split 11 thru 20, I was pushing the max HR and got up to 190 at the end. I was keggin'!
Vermont Waterways (maker of the paddle adapter) says that I shouldn't use the footrests of my rower (Model E) because it sits higher than the previous models, but I think it's perfect for OC1 simulation. My feet were in OC6 position tonight, obviously. Next time I'll drop the drag from 10 to, say, 5, and do the OC1 position. I'll make those pace boats a liiiiittle slower too... ;-)
what is the program you are using on your computer? does any of that work with the PM3?
