  • Busy lot aren't you in the MADDOG. Very noticeable that the checklists are a lot longer than the more modern jets. Question for you. Departure or Centre gave you a crossing height - do you have any display, such as the ND in a B737-800, that shows whether the restriction is achievable?

  • @BaronBoy100 yes

  • So that's what it's like to be part of a push. Used to see that at BNA when AA was there. Cool!

  • Sounds as if the pilots are using multiple languages.

  • The skyline looks fake at 4:32 lol...like a comic book

  • holy crap theres so many us airways!!!

  • thanks for the video mate. happy flying CHEERS!

  • @gsadvanced Yes I do agree that if Boeing wanted to make the MD series just as efficient if not more efficient than the 737 series, then they would. However, I tend to disagree that the MD series flies better then the new 737 series. I think that the tiny deflective tabs on the MD series makes flying it feel like you're driving a semi truck while the hydraulic assist on the control surfaces on the 737 makes it feel like you're driving a brand new Cadillac. Just my opinion of course.

  • @blakman7 I know the MD is thirsty but IMO it still flys better than the new 737 I fly both all the time. I know the MD 90 has the IAE V2500 like the A320 and I know there is very fuel efficient engines. If Boeing wanted to they could make the MD series just as fuel efficient as the new 737. The new Chinese ARJ-21 900 is going to fly with GE CF34-10's and they have the same thrust range18,285-20,000 and the JT8 is 18,500, 21,000. The Chinese Jet is basically a MD with a new wing.

  • @gsadvanced The MD-80 is extremely fuel thirsty, hence why Delta and American are starting to replace the MD-80/88 fleet with other fuel efficient aircraft. The 737 is much more fuel efficient and in times like now when the fuel prices are soaring, the MD series becomes obsolete, although they are fine aircraft. If I'm not mistaken, the MD-90 does a little better on the fuel and the Boeing 717 (MD-95) does good on the fuel. Therefore, Delta is getting more 737's and MD-90's.

  • I have flown the MD 80 a few times with Allegiant Air and the new 737 with Southwest and I must say that Boeing made the wrong decision on what plane to keep building. The ride on the MD series is just so much better, the only time it feels like a 737 to me the passanger is on final.

  • Thanks for the video!
