We know that prenatal care contributes to better birth outcomes, but research has continued to show that prenatal care impacts children well-beyond the moment of birth. One of the improvements we see is in educational outcomes later in life.

Dr. Bryan Williams, Associate Professor of Family and Preventative Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine, explains some of his research connecting poor birth outcomes - like prematurity - to educational achievement later in life.
