NB.

Not all bomber crews spoke with plummy accents. For example, my late dad never said, ' Pip pip Mikey, just going for a tooter down to the town in the old Austin and we'll have a spot of tiffin when I return'. I say this, just in case any Yanks who watch these clips think otherwise ! :o)

The real reason for the majority(all?) of these RAF types sounding somewhat posh, is because they're actors (I know, state the obvious), but actors of this era all came from wealthier backgrounds thus the general toffiness of their accents.

@xpo50 the fact is that England wasn't going to be beat because they were not only spirited but had a great advantage of being an island and if Hitler had no superiority, Britain could easily defend against Hitler, and since he could never achieve that superiority, well...

@LootsEr There would have been no Russian involvement had Hitler not been defeated in Britain, Stalin and Hitler had a peace agreement, and so had Hitler easily taken Britain he could have turned all attentions to Russia and easily destroyed it, however he was frustrated by his lack of success in Britain and started a silly war on two fronts which was his downfall. Also, it is obvious that even if Hitler retained control of Europe that Britain would have never fallen and we would still fight.

There is something you all should remember despite this DVD. We WON the Battle of Britain!

Germany deserved to be leveled to the ground for attacking human cities - this had nothing to do with neutralizing enemy forces. Cowards. German citizens deserved to die just as the nazis, because the majority of them truely they believed that their race was the superior one to all. Most people cry about the fact that so many inoccent people died in germany and so many architecture was lost. I say BS - they deserved all, theuy have brought this upon themselves.
