Rolando Villazón - star of ITV's new entertainment show Popstar to Operastar
Premiere - Friday 15th January on ITV1 from 9:00 pm to 10:30 pm

Alan Titchmarsh and Myleene Klass present a new series in which eight chart-topping singers attempt to perform well-known opera songs accompanied by a full live orchestra. Over the next six weeks, the viewing public gets to decide who stays in the competition. The contestants will have the benefit of tuition from mezzo soprano Katherine Jenkins and tenor Rolando Villazón.

Opera star tenor Rolando Villazón, who cancelled all his 2009 engagements after a cyst found on his vocal cords, will make his comeback on stage in March 2010, at the Vienna State Opera.

The richness of his catalogue on calls for a 2-CD compilation like Viva Villazón. The album features a previously unreleased aria (Donna non vidi mai from Manon Lescaut).
